Flipping two of my Ohio State was among the hardest work I have done but I already feel like it will be among the most worthwhile.
Flipping involves taking the lecture out of class and making it more of a homework endeavor through short videos. Then class time is free to talk about the key concepts, put such concepts into workable play, and engage students in a way I never had time to before.
The iPads in Comm 2221 (Writing and Editing for News) have certainly made this endeavor easier, as iTunes U is the perfect flipping platform for me.
But we are also giving it a go in Comm 3404 (Media Law and Ethics), where those without iTunes can go to our YouTube channel for videos and Facebook for links.
Every semester feels like an adventures, but none more so than this. I promise it will be worth the ride!
